Bethany’s poem for Grandad Pops. Read at the funeral. Stay close by grandad pops and watch me play & grow. I’m grateful for the times we’ve shared and your love I’ll always know. I was your birthday present Grandad Pops, when you turned 80 years old. I lay on your knee, you smiled at me and gave me your hand to hold. My mummy says you were thrilled when I was born and cuddled me so tight. She also says I slept all day but kept her up at night! We went on holidays together and ate icecream by the sea. And you would watch me build sand boats like you used to make mummy. I liked to sing and play on the piano, which always made you smile. And then I’d sit with you and stroke your hand a while. We played dominoes, read books, and shared our snacks together. I wish grandad pops could do that with me forever! You always said I’m incredible and were shocked at what I could do. My mummy says I have your intelligence and that I remind her of you! Mummy & Daddy say they will always tell me stories about you, and how you love me, so; Your love and adoration for your little treasure il always know. Love Bethany x

I am blessed with many happy memories of my wonderful Dad, here are just a few of them; 🌈 Help with homework: No matter what the subject was Dad was always able to assist, read through essays, and provide comment. He always took a real interest in whatever I was doing., and understood it better than I! He always had time for us all. 🌈 Master decorater! Paint spilled into his spare time too in painting rooms at home - and wallpapering with us all sat around him watching TV! He decorated my house too, and showed me how to paint. 🌈 Golf & putting! Early morning golf, the putting green at brid, and in his own back garden. He would frequently get hole in ones. Loved playing with us and us with him. 🌈 Loved driving! Dad knew the route to North Wales like the back of his hand, and would drive you anywhere you needed to be, bless him. Gave chris and I driving lessons in the American Adventure carpark! He once drove me all the way to Stoke on Trent so I would know where I was going to get onto the M6 junction towards Blackpool! 🌈 Guidance and Advice: Dad always provided sound advice, and comfort in the low times. Always had a cuddle, and would say “it’s alright my sweetheart” - I really really miss that! Dad is the kindest, gentlest, compassionate man I have ever known. Miss him so much. Love from Kathryn, forever Dad’s Katie-Koppers! xxxx
